About Us

The Pictou County Invasion Volleyball Club was created (and continues to be developed) by a group of parents in Pictou County who wanted to provide an opportunity for youth from the community to play volleyball in a safe and healthy environment. Our main priority is to provide youth programs that promote a healthy love of volleyball, both recreational and at a high performance level, at reasonable cost.

We strive to offer a variety of opportunities for youth to play and develop skills and a positive attitude toward sport at a time when many become less active. Our target audience are 7-18 year old, boys and girls.

Our philosophy is that everyone deserves to play at a level that is developmentally appropriate. At the lower age level, we offer a volleyball program where we help children development fundamental movement skills.

We hold “Team Placement” sessions rather than try-outs, where no one is “cut.” All players are offered placement, whether it be on a tier one or two tournament team, or in the skill building “house” league.

Our coaches model the principles of fair play and we teach our participants that every member of the team is valued. We encourage our senior athletes to mentor the younger ones as player coaches under the supervision of the adult coaches. We believe this provides important educational leadership skills to the senior players and encourages the younger ones to continue to play and improve.

Ultimately, we want players who come to our club to have a positive and safe experience, learn to be leaders and volunteers in their community, and to develop a love for life-long sport participation.
